Local Groups Fear Gold Coast Beach Erosion and Homes Flooding if Climate Change is not reduced to 50% by 2030 Fearing serious damage to homes and hinterland rainforests along with flooding, tourism and community groups want urgent action to cut

The public consultation of the concept plans for the light rail stage 4 finished on 17th September. While there were certainly plenty of opportunities for residents of the southern Gold Coast to view the concept drawings and talk with Transport and Main Roads (TMR) officers, there were few answers to questions. Gecko are holding their 32nd Annual General Meeting on October 16th and would like to invite all to attend this event to hear about the activities Gecko has been involved with over the past year and welcome in our new Committee. 2 PAID CASUAL POSITIONS-GeckoEd is the environmental education arm of Gecko Environment Council committed to providing quality curriculum based environmental education to schools and school aged children. Paul Revie, an ecologist and zoologist, founded the Quoll Society of Australia to safeguard the spotted-tailed quoll in southern Queensland. His team of enthusiastic volunteers are mapping the last remaining healthy population of spotted-tailed quolls in the region. EcoDiscoverers always hold an exciting program of adventures for children 5-9 years old; just $5 per child. Parents can accompany them if they wish. This time the groups look and identify various water birds, see what lives in the mangroves, run around and explore the delightful sand dunes and even go on a mystery tour.
