Re-Greening our Gardens with Native Plants and the GroNATIVE App
On Wednesday 26th April, in the Cove Room at Currumbin RSL, Catherine Pickering will talk about how growing native plants can make your garden look great while also conserving local plants and animals.
Now selecting and growing native plants is even easier with a brand new free App designed especially for South-East Queenslanders.
Professor Catherine Pickering is a renowned plant ecologist with over 25 years research experience in areas of climate change, sustainable tourism and ecology and currently lectures at the Griffith School of Environment.Â
Professor Pickering is also active in developing technology to promote biodiversity conservation, and will be introducing us to the new GroNATIVE App.
It showcases 400 local native plants with images and information about each species and the native wildlife it supports.
Users can select from 16 different garden styles and 40 eco-systems naturally adapted to their suburb to provide their garden with year-round excitement, colour and wildlife.

The GroNATIVE App and website are the result of the collaboration between Griffith University and local environmental company Natura Pacific.
