Gecko hosts numerous events during the year

Reaching out to our community

Environmental themed events are an integral part of Gecko’s Outreach Program. Gecko’s events calendar consists of the main annual events, monthly guest speaker nights, numerous one-off events as well as various events that Gecko supports and assists in hosting.

Gecko hosts various one-off events throughout the year related to specific campaigns, projects and relevant topics. Gecko also supports and assists other groups and organisations in hosting their events.

Gecko’s events program is coordinated by a dedicated events team led by a professional event manager. All individual events have their own event coordinator supported by a team of event assistants and volunteers.

Gecko is committed to delivering best practice, sustainable events and over the years has set a benchmark of sustainable event management in the region.

The main annual events are:

Clean Up Australia Day – on the first Sunday in March.
Gold Coast Green Week in June.
Annual Environmental Awards during the Biodiversity Month in September.
All of our events aim to inspire and educate the community while showcasing Gecko, other environmental organisations and businesses, and the environmental expertise, know-how and passion in the region.

Gecko Talks

These highly popular monthly guest speaker nights bring a high-quality program of environmental professionals and specialists to speak to the public about their fields of expertise. Gecko Talks is hosted by Gecko with much appreciated support from Currumbin RSL.
