Clean Up Australia Day 2018 was a great success on the Gold Coast.

The City had 141 registered sites, more than 2,300 clean up volunteers and an estimated 310.2 tonnes of rubbish collected.

Gecko thanks everyone who got involved and hopes to work with you again in 2019 on the first Sunday in March.

Gecko has coordinated Clean Up Australia Day on the Gold Coast together with City of Gold Coast for over two decades. The general community, schools and businesses are encouraged to get involved before, during and after this inspirational annual event.

Here are some ways:

Clean Up Australia Day

– Register a clean up site for the school clean up day, business clean up day or the community clean up day

– Register as a volunteer in an already registered clean up site

– Report litter hotspots by getting in touch with us and we will promote it as a clean up site during Clean Up Australia Day

Throughout the year

– Reduce, re-use, recycle and rethink the way you consume

– Dispose of your waste properly
