Speaker: Greg Howell
Organisation: Climate Wave Enterprises
Events are a fun and effective way of sharing ideas, spreading messages and bringing communities and industries together. Nevertheless they can leave a significant environmental footprint – energy and water consumption, generating waste and polluting the air and water just to mention a few. Sustainable Event Management (SEM) practices maximise the positive impacts and minimise the potential negative ones in the course of planning and delivering events as well as considering the legacy of your event.
Greg Howell is a Sustainable Event Manager devoted to environmental responsibility. He started on his path as an environmental advocate in the late ’70’s and has kick-started a range of local and national environmental educational programs. In 2008 he founded a company that currently works with event organisers around Australia to promote and implement sustainable event management practices, green supply chains and cutting edge sustainability knowledge. He has recently been elected to the Board of Directors for Sustainable Event Alliance, the industry’s leading organisation.
This free event is aimed at individuals, groups, businesses and event management students and professionals; anyone and everyone who coordinates and hosts events of any scale and kind. Gecko would like to extend a warm welcome to everyone to attend.
