Guest Speaker Night – Wed 26th Feb – Gecko Hall
Originally established 43 years ago in Brisbane as the Queensland branch of ‘Keep Australia Beautiful’, ‘Keep Queensland Beautiful’ is now a fully matured, dynamic and independent entity in its own right, and what an evolution it has been…
Tarra Martel, KQB’s education officer, will appear in person at our Currumbin hall on the 26th of February to regale us with tales of unsung heroes whose personal sacrifices and initiatives inspired (and continue to inspire) community awareness on just how unique, delicate, and precious the Queensland biosphere truly is.
Projects include: Tidy Towns, Clean Beaches, Sustainable Cities, Greener Cleaner Schools,
Keep Australia Beautiful and Butt Free Zone
Tarra will describe the gauntlet that all such non-profit NGOs must withstand while dealing with state, local, and federal governments in a race against time to preserve our precious heritage; for once these natural gifts are gone they will be gone forever.
This is an ongoing struggle that we all must join and dare not lose. People like Tarra Martel are leading the way, stirring people to action, and must be heard. Join us for her inspiring talk and become part of the movement to keep Queensland forever beautiful.
Gecko Hall, 26th February at 6.30 pm
Upstairs, the corner of Duringan St
and Thrower Drive, Currumbin.
