This Wednesday night Gold Coasters will have the opportunity to hear all about bats – flying foxes and microbats- and how they benefit humankind and the environment.
Trish Wimberley- winner of the Gold Coast Citizen of the Year Award – will speak about her work.
Trish and her husband and dedicated volunteers provide medical care to all species of sick, injured and orphaned bats and Australian native fauna. Since 2000, their not-for-profit organisation, ABC & Wildlife Trauma Centre, has rescued most of the non-domesticated animals injured on our roads. Operating the centre requires a 24/7 commitment and at any one time they house up to 500 animals.
The FREE presentation is at Gecko House, 139 Duringan St, Currumbin at 6.30pm, Wednesday 25th September.
To reserve a seat for this special event ring Gecko on 55341412. Light refreshments are available for a gold coin donation.
