The Australian Government’s Green Loans Program is providing free home sustainability assessments and interest-free optional Green Loans.
As an accredited assessor for the Green Loans Program, Gecko can now provide FREE assessments which help you save money on your energy and water bills – even if you are renting!
The free assessments (valued at over $250) recommend tailored energy and water saving options for your home. These may range from simple actions like switching to energy efficient lights and replacing shower heads to larger scale recommendations such as installing water or energy saving products like rainwater tanks or solar panels.
These actions could save you hundreds of dollars every year on your bills and more than pay for themselves.

In Queensland, the price of energy has just risen by over 15% and is likely to continue to rise as a price is soon placed on our carbon emissions.
Increasingly, we are all looking for ways to stop wasting resources, save money on household bills, make our homes more comfortable, and help protect our environment.
Each year, the average Australian household contributes around 13 tonnes of greenhouse gas to the atmosphere – enough to fill more than 700 balloons a day. Each household also draws an average of 73,000 buckets of water a year. That’s enough for around 12 baths a day.
After you receive your assessment report, you also have the option of applying for a four-year interest-free loan should you wish to, for example, upgrade to a more energy and water efficient appliance, such as a new washing machine. But that’s up to you! No obligation.
The Green Loans program is all about creating greener homes – ultimately helping around 360,000 Australian households save energy and water and look after the environment by reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
