Catchment 2 Coast (C2C)
In 2009, GeckoEd was successful in its application to the Federal Government for funding to develop and deliver a series of hands-on educational full and half-day field excursions to inform, involve and inspire local students to recognise the value of our catchments and coasts.
Gold Coast Students the winners – media release
A series of factors including population growth and development have led to catchment and coastal degradation.
The C2C project is about developing stewardship and taking responsibility. Students will investigate the issues and, together with the community, contribute to the protection and rehabilitation of local habitats.
In 2010, C2C activities will continue to focus on Tallebudgera and Currumbin Creeks and beaches, and include the study of wetlands, estuaries, catchments and dunal areas.
