Awards Night

Now is the time to get your nominations in and make sure that your environmental hero gets recognised at Gecko’s 14th annual environmental awards!

Each year, Gecko acknowledges individuals, groups, and businesses within the South East Queensland community who have made a significant contribution to the preservation of, or improvement to, our local natural environment. In recognition of this, Gecko hosts the annual awards ceremony, celebrating the outstanding achievements of these people through the presentation of a Gecko Award to each recipient.

Nominations are put forward by members of the community, with a highly-experienced panel selecting the winners. Past winners include:

  • Michelle Monsour – Former CEO of Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary
  • Stuart Ball – Surfrider Foundation, Kirra Surfrider Club and SAND
  • Local School Elanora State High School
  • Local Business Rockcote

You can nominate in the following 4 categories;

Platinum Gecko A demonstrated long-term commitment to the environment movement.
Gold Gecko Outstanding environmental service over several years.
Silver Gecko Significant environmental commitment over the past year.
Certificate of Appreciation Consistent, diligent work for the environment.

Previous award recipients

Gecko’s 14th Annual Environmental Awards night is held on Friday 3rd December.The evening starts at 6.30pm and is held at the courtyard of Gecko House. All members of community are invited to the event, all you need to do is RSVP to Gecko before Monday 22nd December.
